Delcious Treats

Today, I made mint truffles, oreo truffles, fudge, and peppermint bark. My mom made some toffee. We are going to give it to some of our friends. I had a TON of fun cooking all of the things. I really enjoy baking delicious treats. I have always loved cooking things. I like trying out new things and I like everyone's reactions to the yummy things that I make. I think I would really like to own a bakery of sorts some day. I would love to go to culinary school at some point in my life, but who knows. I would have taken pictures of all the candy that was all over our counter, but alas my camera is missing. I have looked everywhere for it and still no luck. So, here is a picture of me cooking as a wee one.

My Christmas List

As Christmas is coming upon us very quickly, I decided to make my Christmas list. I probably won't get half of these, but hey, I can dream. In no particular order:
A Sweater Dress

I have ALWAYS loved sweater dresses! They are gorgeous and super flattering. The best ones are from Victoria's Secret, they are usually super expensive, but this one is only 25 dollars!

Crochet Boot Things
Now these can't just be any crochet boot thing, because a lot of them are just the yarn on the top, and so the snow can seep through and drench your socks, HECK NO! I have fallen in love with boots this year, and I think these would be a great addition to my collection.

A Sweet Retro Bike

I have wanted one of these for the longest time. They are super cute (obviously not this color) and way fun. A basket on it would be nice, too.

A great wool pea coat
I already have one, but I'm looking for one that is not so square, and that is longer. I love coats like this, so cute, so classic.

Photoshop
Not only do I want the actual program, but I want to learn how to use it. I love photography and stuff, and then if I could change the pictures around and make them awesome, that would be happy.

A Digital Voice Recorder
I would love to have one of these babies. I could record all of my lectures from class and study with that. AAAnd I need it to record myself to get into the Music Program.
Pearl Earrings
First of all, I don't even have pierced ears, but I want to get them pierced so I can sport a pair of classy pearl earrings. They just complete some outfits.

Money
I hate getting money for Christmas. It makes me feel like I have to use it for something responsible. But, if I could get a LOT of money, that would be awesome. I could pay for tuition, buy my books, get a new wardrobe, maybe a car... it would be great

Well, that is my Christmas list. What are some of the things on your Christmas Wish list?

Flashback

This morning on my way up to campus, I saw something happening that I had done once before. What was it? You may ask. Well, I'll tell you. I saw a girl riding her bike this pleasant morning, and since it was so pleasant, she didn't need her coat. So she took her coat off and held onto it with her hand, while holding onto the handle bars of the bike. Immediately, I remembered a time in the third grade where I had done the exact same thing riding home from school. It was way too hot in the afternoon to wear a coat, so I took it off. The only way I could even think about carrying my coat was with my hand on the handlebars. Well, unfortunately whilst riding my bike, the coat would swing back and forth. At one point it swung so fast that it went right into the spokes of my front wheel. Yes, you can imagine what happened next. My front wheel stopped turning, thus causing me to do a complete front flip on my bike (p.s. can you imagine how funny this would have been for people watching it? When I get to heaven, this is one of the parts I am going to watch over and over on my life video). I landed face first in the gravel. It roughed me up quite a bit as I had scraped the entire left side of my face with gravel. It was not a fun experience, but looking back, it sure is funny.

Anyway, I remembered that great story this morning with that girl. Hopefully, her fate was not the same as mine. Let this be a warning to you all.

My new jammies

These are my new pajamas. I found them in the little girl section at Target, coming in at a steal of a deal worth 12.99. Why do I love these pajamas so much, you may ask? I'll tell you why...
1. They make me feel like a little kid again. When I zip them up, I still lift my chin up so I don't zip up my neck. That was always the worst when that would happen.
2. They are ridiculously warm
3. They have built in socks! I love it because the feet are really loose, and so unlike socks that I end up taking off in the night because they are too tight or too loose and they fall off, these babies stay on and keep my feet nice and toasty.
4. They are flame resistant. Who likes dealing with pajamas that are on fire? Not me.
5. When you wake up in the morning and get out of bed, are you cold? NO! You are still wearing a fleece blanket!
6. They are Christmas pajamas. Who DOESN'T love Christmas pajamas?
7. Now Laura, Sarah and I all have Christmas footie pajamas.

Needless to say, this is probably the best 12.99 I have ever spent.

High School Musical 3

Last night my roommates and I and some boys from the ward went to the midnight release of High School Musical 3.

As you can see in the picture, we mad some AWESOME shirts. It was such a great night!

At about 9 pm we made our way over to Macey's grocery store to stock up on sugary treats to keep us awake for the late movie (little did we know the movie would do that for us on its own). Then we drove down to Provo Towne Mall Cinemark. We walked in and heard constant praises of our amazing shirts. "Where did you find those?" "You guys MADE them?" were ringing in our ears.

Then we went into the theater and took our great seats. Everyone around us brought their laptops and were watching the first two movies. It was so great to be surrounded by fellow HSM fans.

The lights went dark, the previews ended... it was time. Opening shot: close up of Troy Bolton attractively sweaty in his basketball jersey. It was all surprisingly uphill from there.

The scenery, the sets, the story line, the acting, THE MUSIC! It was all amazing! This wasn't your run-of-the-mill Disney Channel movie, IT WAS GOOD! Now don't get me wrong, I loved the first movie, and especially loved the second movie. But the third movie surpassed my expectations. I loved every minute of it.

My roommates and I have not stopped listening to the soundtrack and drueling over Zac Efron. All I have to say, is that it was a Night to Remember, and I HIGHLY recommend it.

The Way We Were... before we watched this terrible movie.

It's on all of the "Top 50 Best Chick Flick Lists" I've ever seen. It's a classic. All our mom's LOVE it. It's the movie, The Way We Were. Our dear roommate Melodie picked it up for us at the library. We set a time, 10:00 p.m. Friday night, to watch it. We were all SO excited. We got our pajama pants on, turned off all the lights, got our comfy blankets and pushed play.

The movie has an interesting plot, in that NO ONE understands it. She is very opinionated about something, but who really knows. There is an unbelievably long and awkward bedroom scene. The movie was 2 painful hours long. OOOH and the best part? They don't even end up together. What kind of chick flick is that? It was sad, depressing, awkward and confusing. Not exactly the ingredients for a great chick flick.

When it was over, my roommates and I just sat there and wondered if we missed something? Was it an era thing? Did we have to live in the 70's to figure out what the heck was going on? Needless to say, I wish I could go back to the way we were, before we watched that movie.

So I Have This Problem...

I don't know why, but when I see someone that I know on campus, but haven't seen them for a while, I decide it's best to avoid eye contact, pretend like I'm doing something else, maybe even pretend to be on the phone. All of this, to avoid saying "Hi!" to someone that I haven't seen for a while. Am I weird? I think yes.

My Date with Michael Phelps

I went on a date with Michael Phelps! First, Michael came and picked me up at my house in Provo. Then we went swimming in this super cool swimming pool and he taught me how to swim. Then we went back to my house and watched meteor showers on the front lawn. We held hands and his hands were about 3 times the size of mine. He was so cute and such a gentleman. It was the best date ever. Unfortunately, I woke up.

My analysis: I should marry Michael Phelps.

The Synchronized Swimming Team Look Like Drag-Queens

That's right. I said it. I don't know if it's the terrible blue eyeshadow, the lack of chests, the rippling arm muscles, the narrow noses due to the nose pinchers (making them look like the males who get facial re-constructive surgery to make them look more like females, thus making their noses narrower), or the loudly colored awkward outfits. But all I know, is that I think they look like drag queens. CLEARLY, they don't look like them all the time, just when they are in the water with all the weird outfits. I'm sure they are gorgeous girls out of the water and in normal make up.

Apologies to anyone who is/related to/in love with a synchronized swimmer.

Funny...

While driving through Provo, every now and then you see something sort of weird/strange. Well it is my new goal in life to capture these things, for posterity's sake. Here is a video showing a guy that was uni cycling at an alarming speed down University Parkway. Laura and I couldn't help but LOVE this. So, I pulled my trusty camera out of my purse and shot a quick video.

Pet Peeves

This post is inspired by my fellow blogging buddy, Brook.

I have many pet peeves, but these are just a few that I can remember at the moment.

In no particular order:
1. Cold Showers- I grew up with a little brother that could apparently stand the heat of scalding water and so he would turn the water on FULL blast as hot as it would go. So I had many a cold shower in my youth.
2. Tying my shoes- I hate when you take them off at someone's house and then you and your friends are about to leave somewhere and they all have slip-ons and you are stuck squatting down and tying your shoes. It just feels like a waste of time to me. So, my junior year of High School, I bought some Velcro Skechers. Very efficient.
3. This one was inspired by Darrell. When people put quotation marks around words that should not have them. Such as this:
4. Russian Roommates that you can't say "NO" to. So they take full advantage of it and borrow your favorite dress from New York, and wait forever to give it back.
5. People that whine entirely too much.
6. Crocs. I don't care if they are comfortable, they are ugly.
7. When people make unnecessary movement while you're watching a movie or something. My little brother would always be throwing a ball up in the air or something and I could only see it out of the tiny corner of my eye. It drove me nuts.
8. The small marquee at the bottom of the screen when you're watching CNN. Don't they know that EVERYONE reads that rather than listen to what the news caster is saying?
9. Busy Work
10. When people say, "You look tired." haha. I think that's so harsh. You might as well say, "WOW! You look like crap!"
11. WhEn PeOpLe TyPe ThInGs LiKe ThIs. It'S rEtArDeD.
12. People that cut in line. It's totally elementary school, but still annoying.
13. Back Packs with the rollers on the bottom of them. I have enough reasons to trip while walking across campus, I don't need your help.
14. When flip-flops decide to break while you're walking through a store. So you either continue walking without shoes, or look like an idiot trying to scoot your broken flip flop with the bottom of your foot.
15. When people wear leggings to church.

Those are some of my pet peeves. What are your pet peeves?

Martha Who?

Move aside Martha Stewart, there's a new Martha in town (Yes, that is completely cheesy, but I'm bored so give me a break).

That's right. I have become a Domestic Diva, if you will. This past week I dug up grass and planted a flower garden, painted the front room and kitchen with my roommates, and we hosted a lovely barbecue on the side of our house last night. Also, I was asked to sew dresses for the little girls in my sister's friend's wedding. I think that will be great fun.

I love doing crafty things like that. I like doing stuff that makes things look better, hence the painting and the flower garden. I really love sewing because I can actually wear the finished product. It just seems more practical. I cannot stand scrapbooking. It is so stinkin' expensive, time consuming and I HATE cleaning up all the scraps of paper later. In my mind, why would I spend 15 bucks on ONE scrapbook page that hardly anyone notices, when I can use that 15 dollars to buy some super cute fabric, make a dress and wear it all around. I do however think the whole idea of scrapbooking is a good idea, saving memories for posterity and whatnot, but I choose to use a program called Book Smart. It can be found at www.blurb.com. You make your own book and then they publish it and send it to you. And it only costs about 30 dollars, that's what I am talking about.

P.S. I posted this and then my sister Michelle sent me this picture that she photoshopped, so I had to put it up there. Thanks Michelle!

True Colors

Having recently moved into a new ward, I have been introduced to many a things. One of my new favorite things is the game True Colors. I was first introduced to it at a friend's apartment after Linger-Longer on Sunday. This game is HILARIOUS! I don't actually know what kind of questions the actual game includes because we just made up our own for a more interesting game. The game goes a little something like this: Someone picks a question, reads it aloud to the group, and then everyone in the group votes for another person in that group who most defines the question being asked. The votes are then read aloud and the person with the most votes wins. Some of the questions we asked were like, "Who do you want to kiss right now?""What person would you want to go on a long road trip with" "Who do you think is the best kisser?" These questions add for a little bit more excitement in the game, and are quite enjoyable. Needless to say, I love this game.

Another favorite of mine is the game Scattergories. I could play this game for hours on end. It never gets old to me. I love coming up with funny responses and listening to everyone else's hilarious responses. Such a clever game, I love it.

I got to play both of these games tonight and had a GREAT time. I love playing games, especially ones that make you laugh. Monopoly, on the other hand, does not have quite the same effect. I love the game, don't get me wrong, but ask any of my siblings, and they will tell you why it is banned in the Proctor household. hahah. Great times.

New Swimming Suit

So I recently decided to retire my old swimming suit and buy a new one. I LOVE it. I got to "debut" it, if you will, at the ward pool party. I really like it. The top is SUPER long, so you don't have to worry about it riding up, and it's so cute! Both Laura and I got one, she got a black and white polka dot one though. We bought them from Modbe Clothing company, one of the websites is www.nobellybuttons.com. Anyway, here is what my new swimming suit looks like.

SUMMER!

I will no longer be posting for my English class, but Michelle said I should still keep my blog up to date- so I will try my best.

I am done with classes! I just have to finish finals and then I am done! Done with living in Heritage Halls and my personal favorite-done with being a freshman! Woohoo!

I am really excited for summer. I get to live in a cute little house right across the street from my brother Isaac. Summer will be complete with many road trips with friends and family. I am stoked. So all I can say is, bring on summer!

Disney Characters...

We had an assignment to choose which Disney character describes us most. I had NO idea. I am not very good at figuring this sort of stuff out. So I started asking other people what they thought. My brother said I was most like Belle from Beauty and the Beast, because I sing and I go out with Beasts :) Pretty funny.
My friend also said I was most like Belle, because I look a lot like her, but with a little bit of Snow White. Now having only seen Snow White once, I can't say for sure, but I don't think I'm really anything like her. She seems a little bit air-headed. I know that I would never take anything, let alone an apple from and old creepy lady that I didn't know. But that's just me.
Another one of my friends was trying very hard to figure out what I would be. She said I was like Sharpay Evans from High School Musical. Her reasons were because I sing, and I love Zac Efron. I am completely guilty :) However, I would like to think I'm not nearly as high maintenance or annoying as she is. Hopefully my friends would agree...

So i was still stuck. I wasn't like Dory from Finding Nemo, because I actually have an excellent memory. And I wasn't even like Nemo, because I don't have a bummed arm. I was somewhat like Sleeping Beauty, because I sure do enjoy a good nights rest- so much that I won't go to class sometimes :). I could sort of relate to Cinderella because when I was little I was certain that I was adopted just so my family would have someone to do all the chores. I wasn't really like Mulan, because I would NEVER chop my hair off and pretend to be a boy haha.

When it all boils down to it, I would have to agree with my brother and friend and say I am most like Belle. Plus when I took the Facebook quiz, I was most like Belle ;). I have always sort of related to Belle. I think she's a nice, down-to-earth girl who doesn't worry about what other people think. I love reading books like she does. I would however, rather have the Beast stay as the Beast then turn back into the man. I think when he is a person he looks like a weird girl. I find the Beast much more attractive. Belle loves her home, So do I. I try to go home as much as I can to see my family. Belle wants "so much more than this provincial life." Well, so do I :) I love to travel! And I want to make the most out of my life. It's my dream to travel to France, which is where Belle lives. And who wouldn't want the sweet gold dress she wears at the end. So, in the end, I think I am most like Belle.
