So I Have This Problem...
I don't know why, but when I see someone that I know on campus, but haven't seen them for a while, I decide it's best to avoid eye contact, pretend like I'm doing something else, maybe even pretend to be on the phone. All of this, to avoid saying "Hi!" to someone that I haven't seen for a while. Am I weird? I think yes.

Yes. You are weird. Stop being so antisocial. It's only awkward if you make it awkward, which you obviously are. I always at least smile at people I know.
