So, this year I am a little bit sad that I don't get to pack up my stuff and move home for the weekend- seeing as I already live at home. It's always such a nice break to get away from roommates/Provo during that time. But, I've had that nice break for the past 6 months, sooo I shouldn't complain. I have a lot to be thankful for, here are just a few things:
I'm grateful...
.for my family
.for my friends
.for the gospel
.that sarah came to visit
.for reuniting with long lost friends through fakesgiving
.i have a car
.i have done really well this semester
.i haven't been to class since last tuesday. whoops! i was sick. but still, a nice break.
.i got a raise at work
.there is a farkle app for my ipod
.i am just about done listening to HP 7
.i have the cutest nieces and nephews
.i didn't have to plan a ward week-night activity for the past two weeks
.that ward council got changed to 12:30 instead of 8:30. hallelujah.
.people 'like' when darrell and i post funny things on each others walls
.people read this blog (even though they don't comment... cough cough)
.i have a great job, and i am getting promoted
.i have 4 wheel drive and seat heaters
.i have a dad who fixes my car
.i am not living paycheck to paycheck
.that putting vitamin e on my face at night is making me not break out so much
.for reuniting with people and picking up right where you left off
. for late night talks with sarah
.the gym i go to has individual tv's so i don't have to worry about being judged for watching jerseylicious and hannah montana
.that people think i am funny
.my mom taught me to sew
.my mom makes me dinner, and doesn't get mad at me when i complain because i have to clean it up
.i can cook. pretty darn well.
.i get to go to the temple
.i can play the piano
.for my body. and learning more about bodies this semester
.for my urethral sphincters-this was joke in my anatomy lab, but i really am, we would pee our pants if they didn't work
.for electric blankets, it's the best thing that has ever happened to my sleep
.for good dreams
.for phone calls with sisters and brothers
.that jared has a girlfriend who makes him super happy
.that tonight is makeover week on biggest loser
.that i am not big enough to be on biggest loser :)
.for comfy grandma socks
.for my hot chocolate thermos that keeps me warm on my way to school
.for hugs
.for christmas music
.for making things
.for blog-stalking
.for good movies on netflix
.for the gift of gratitude
Well, that's my very short and condensed list of some of the things I have to be grateful for. Take a minute this week to stop and think of what you have to be grateful for, and have a Happy Thanksgiving!

So Ashamed
So, tonight I went to IHOP with Laura and my parents. I know, living the dream. When we got there, we got our table and then I ran to the bathroom. Luckily, I had been to this IHOP before in high school, so I knew where the bathroom was and didn't have to ask the waiter.
I walk into the bathroom and I see that people have carved stuff in the stalls. There was one that said "The South will rise again." Kind of weird. And then another that said "I love Abby." Sick. Some weirdo lesbian girl had to proclaim her love on a bathroom stall. How romantic. As I leave, that's when the shock hits.
There is a young boy at a urinal. WHAT THE? How did I not see the urinal when I came in!? AHHHH! Quickly wash my hands and make sure that boy doesn't see me. Open the door, see the door across the hall with the WOMEN'S sign, and then complete the walk of shame as I leave the Men's restroom. There are tables right outside of the bathroom and so I made sure to not make eye contact with anyone. I tried my hardest not to bust up laughing on my way back to the table. Once I get there, I explode with laughter and tell my family. Immediately after, my Dad pulls out his cell phone and starts telling everyone. So SO SOOO embarrassing.
On a completely unrelated note: Do you see that link up at the top of my blog list? Well, I have another blog. A money blog. And it will only work if people actually look at it. Although, I do understand if you want to pretend that you don't know me for a while, I did go into the Men's room after all.
P.S. I google imaged "ashamed" and I found a picture that I thought portrayed exactly how I felt. It was a guy hiding in a corner, ashamed. But, then it looked way too much like a guy standing at a urinal. And I didn't want that again.

Family Photos
Two weeks ago, Michelle and Casey let me use them as guinea pigs to take family photos. It's something I have been really interested in and I had a blast doing it. For some reason when I posted them here they lost some of the quality, but oh well. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from each family.
Love the picture of these 3.

SOO sweet! I love this.

I could not stop laughing when I was editing this picture. Eve is just so darn cute.

Michelle and Brian's Family

Matthew refused to smile in most of the pictures, but I LOOOVE this picture of him. He has the darkest brown eyes ever and he is just adorable.

Casey and Clint's cute family in my friend Kylar's backyard (Thanks again Ky!!).

The barn.

Again with Matthew's gorgeous eyes.

Landon looks so cute in this picture, I love it.

So much fun. I had a blast taking these and then playing around with them in Photoshop. It's a good thing I have ADORABLE nieces and nephews to take pictures of! Thanks again Michelle and Casey!

I found this, and love it.
"HARRY: What's wrong, miss?
BELLA: Everything! My life is horrible.
HARRY: Are you crying because your parents were killed trying to save you?
BELLA: No. But my parents got divorced and now my dad can't make dinner for himself. So it's kind of the same thing.
HARRY: Are you upset because every father figure you've had was murdered?
BELLA: No. But this one time I fell down playing volleyball. So I know what that feels like.
HARRY: Did you spend your childhood unloved, living in a closet?
BELLA: No. My parents love me, and everyone I ever met adores me.
HARRY: Are you sad because you have the weight of the world on your shoulders and if you mess up even a little bit, millions of people will die?
BELLA: No. I'm sad because I married the man of my dreams, a modern day Prince Charming who is wealthy, strong, and gorgeous.
HARRY: Um…
BELLA: But wait. It gets worse. I also have strong feelings for this other guy.
HARRY: Relationships are tough. I liked this one girl who already had a boyfriend, and then I witnessed her boyfriend's murder. It made things awkward.
BELLA: You don't understand.
HARRY: Guess not. But here's something I do understand. Stupefy!"

gorgeous.
Today I played around on Photoshop for the first time. Mostly it was just clicking on things and once it would do something that I liked, I would keep it. By the end I kind of got the hang of it. Anyway, I'm super excited because I have always wanted to learn and now I'm getting around to it! Also, I am going to be taking family pictures for Michelle and Casey this weekend, and I'm excited to be able to edit the pictures! Anyway, this is just a fun photo of my gorgeous niece Eve.

Get excited to see the family photos from this weekend!

smart. S-M-R-T. smart.
So remember my previous post? About getting a really good score on my Anatomy test? Yeah, well today I had lab for Anatomy. And let's just say I had a small slice of humble pie.
I love my lab. It's really fun. Yes, I do see cadavers. No, I don't faint. It's actually really cool. Well, at the beginning of every lab we have a quiz on what we learned the week before. 10 questions. The 10th question is always some sort of practice one or bonus. What they do is they have pins that have numbers on them and they stick them in a certain thing, and we have to name what the pin is in. Oh- and they keep said pins on a piece of foam when they are not in use (which, unfortunately, I didn't learn about until after the quiz). Well, today I was taking my quiz and I got to question 10. I see a pin with a 10 on it in a piece of foam. The foam had a bunch of holes all over it. In my head I'm thinking, "OK I know 10 is usually a bonus question, but are they really going to be so ridiculous as to put out a piece of foam?" Then, trying to dig deeper, I thought it semi-resembled the anterior sacral foramina. Then, deciding that they were just giving us a total freebie I put "Old Foam" down for number 10. I turn in my quiz and sit and wait for everyone else to finish.
Then, as I'm waiting, I see a number 10 on one of the cadavers. GREAT. That was the real question #10 which was the Serratus Anterior (I totally knew it, I would have gotten the bonus point). Feeling like an idiot, I tell my TA that I saw the 10 pin in the piece of foam and not the real one, hoping to get my quiz back to change the answer. But, since I already turned it in I couldn't take it back. I told them, and my whole class about the situation and how I seriously just wrote "Old Foam" for my answer. We were all laughing. And as embarrassing as it was, I was laughing too and can't stop laughing about it. Such a proud moment.
